Law and Technology Student Society

With the help of four of the firms taking part in the Ottawa IP Recruitment, we are pleased to announce our LTSS Ottawa IP Firm Tour - 2010.  This is a great opportunity for first-year and second-year students to go inside the firms, chat with the lawyers and get as much information as they can before applications are due early in October.

Who:

Any student interested in applying to first or second-year summer job positions with the Ottawa IP firms

When:

Tuesday October 5, 2010 from 9:00am - 5:00pm

Where:

8:30 pm - leave from the front of Fauteux as a group.  Since this is our departure time, be early.

We will visit Borden Ladner Gervais, Smart & Biggar, Osler and Gowlings.

Gowlings has also offered to provide us with pizza and drinks for dinner so work up your hunger while on the tour.

While at the firms, we will hear about the work they do and you will have a chance to chat with lawyers and students and ask them questions.  In some cases, these are the people who will be doing the hiring interviews, so it’s a great opportunity to hear directly from them what they are looking for.

Some tips:

• Business dress - think of this as your “first impression”.
• Something to write on - also write down any questions you want answered so you don’t forget
• Rainwear - this goes rain or shine, so be prepared
